About the Program

The IES Study Center in Rabat is located close to the historic medina. It also has ties to the national university. Mohammed V University was founded in 1957. It was split between 1994 and 1995 to become two independent universities: Mohammed V University at Agdal and Mohammed V University at Souissi. In 2014, the two universities fused back together to form Mohammed V University at Rabat. This comprehensive university enrolls more than 45,000 students annually.

Located at the mouth of the Bouregreg River on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, Morocco's capital is known for landmarks that reflect its shared Islamic and French-colonial heritage, most notably the Kasbah of the Udayas. The Berber-era royal fort is surrounded by French-designed gardens and overlooks the ocean. The city's iconic Hassan Tower, a 12th-century minaret, soars above the ruins of a mosque. Today Rabat is home to nearly two million people.
